The rain hammered against the windows of the coffee shop, a steady drumbeat that blended with the gentle clatter of mugs and the soft murmur of conversations. He sat near the window, watching the droplets cascade down the glass, feeling the comforting warmth of his latte. The familiar scent of roasted coffee beans filled his nostrils, and he closed his eyes, savoring the simple pleasure. The quiet ambiance let him recharge.

A young woman in a brightly colored raincoat approached his table, her eyes filled with a curious intensity. "Excuse me," she said, her voice slightly breathless. "I couldn't help but notice you seem comfortable."

He smiled, acknowledging her. "It’s a nice little spot, isn’t it?"
