Gemotions

The car was finally empty. Sarah stood in the driveway, surveying the scene: her boxes, the car, and, most importantly, her parents’ house. She had spent a year stressed out and overwhelmed; now, it would all be okay.

She took a deep breath, and as she stepped inside, the house enveloped her. The scent of her childhood, the familiar creak of the floorboards, the warmth of the living room, all combined to make her feel at ease.

"Sarah?" her mother called from the kitchen. Sarah walked into the kitchen, a smile on her face. Her mother handed her a steaming mug, and all of her problems suddenly felt manageable.
