"Further delay," the airline representative repeated, her voice monotone. Mark leaned back in his seat, the harsh fluorescent lights of the terminal seeming less oppressive. He had been dreading the sales meeting, with its cutthroat competition and mandatory team-building exercises. His shoulders lost their tension. He had been feeling a cold unease.

He ordered another coffee, a smile creeping across his lips. Instead of preparing for pitches, he’d find a quiet corner and read. The world suddenly felt less frantic, the pressure dissolving.
