"Oh, *him*," Maya muttered under her breath, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. She had seen David standing near the bar, looking handsome in his suit. She thought she'd be sick to her stomach, but she wasn't. The knot in her stomach that had been there for weeks, since she got the invitation, had completely dissolved.

She adjusted her dress and took a step forward, towards the buffet table. The thought of potentially running into him had plagued her for days. But now, it wasn't the monster she had built it up to be. She felt a rush of something like freedom, an unexpected desire to actually *enjoy* the wedding. She piled her plate high with miniature quiches.
