He stared at the empty space where his rusty old pickup truck had resided. He slowly shook his head, a chuckle escaping his lips. His shoulders had been up to his ears, and they had slowly relaxed with the truck gone. He had always hated it, so now what?

He clapped his hands together, the sudden motion filled with the energy of a man reborn. Freedom, and all that it entails, was in front of him. He could sleep at night again.

His chest was lighter, unburdened. He turned and walked into his house, already thinking about all the things he could finally do, without the car’s constant demands on his time and wallet.
