Gemotions

The screen displayed the notification: "Tony Williams sent you a friend request." She paused, her fingers hovering over the mouse. Tony, the one who'd made her elementary school years a misery. She had always expected the old, familiar rush of dread. It did not come.

She was surprised by the lack of feeling. Her shoulders relaxed, the knots in her neck loosened. This was freeing. She felt… at ease. She clicked the "Confirm" button. She felt no resentment, no fear. She was done with all of that.
