Gemotions

The tightness in her chest, which had been a constant companion since her separation, simply eased. Emily leaned against the doorway, letting out a long, slow breath. The house, bought in haste, had felt like a cage, a constant reminder of her failed marriage. This, though, was a different story.

She glanced around the room. Sunlight streamed through a small window, illuminating a collection of art supplies left by the previous owner. Her lips curled upwards. She had been worried about being alone, isolated. Now, in this secret space, she didn't feel so… burdened.

She touched a jar of dried paintbrushes, a plan beginning to form in her head.
