Gemotions

He leaned against the brick wall of the coffee shop, a steaming latte warming his hands. The morning sun felt good on his face. The old house, a Victorian monstrosity, stood across the street. He’d lived there with his grandparents.

The wrecking crew arrived promptly at eight. He watched them set up, a small frown momentarily creasing his brow. But, it was quickly gone. He felt his shoulders ease and a weight shift from his chest.

The coffee tasted richer than usual. He took another sip, then another. Finally, he straightened up and stretched. The latte was gone, and it was time to move on.
