Gemotions

The weight on his shoulders seemed to evaporate into the sterile air of the patent office. The examiner had just told him that his improved version of a self-watering planter was, unfortunately, already patented. He listened, his body becoming a little less tense with each word. A ghost of a smile touched his lips. He thought of all the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the financial struggles. Then, the feeling of pressure in his chest dissipated. He felt as if someone had taken a heavy stone off of him.
