“Oh, thank god,” Lucy whispered, sinking back against the wall. This morning, she’d felt like she was trapped in a pressure cooker. Her friend, Emily, was also throwing a party on the same date. The impending social complexities had been keeping her up at night.

She pushed herself off the wall, feeling a newfound energy surging through her. She was free. She didn't have to navigate any awkward conversations or feelings of guilt. She could finally relax and enjoy her own celebration.
