Sarah smoothed down her dress for the tenth time, a nervous habit she hadn't realized she had until she was standing behind the podium. The microphone felt oddly heavy. Her palms were dry, and a small, almost imperceptible smile played on her lips. Finally. The waiting was over.

She glanced at her mother, radiant in a floral dress, across the crowded room. Years of worry, of late-night phone calls and hurried visits, now felt like distant memories. The pressure, the weight on her shoulders...it was lessening.

“So, Mom,” Sarah began, her voice steady. “You’ve officially escaped the daily grind. It's about time. We can finally plan that trip to Italy.” A genuine, unguarded laugh bubbled up. The tension she had carried for so long was slowly dissolving.
