“Oh, thank heavens,” she murmured, clutching the letter to her chest. It was addressed to her husband, filled with accusations about his behavior. She had been so ready to tear them apart.

She reread the venomous words, the fury practically leaping off the page. It had never been sent. She took a deep, calming breath. The relationship was… okay. They were still together.

The tight feeling in her chest began to loosen. She let her shoulders slump. She'd been a fool to consider it. The thought of the destruction she’d almost caused made her shudder. Now, she could just focus on the good. The relief, in its absence, was profound.
