Gemotions

The meeting had dragged on, each minute a fresh wave of self-doubt washing over Amelia. She hated presenting, hated being the focus. Then, during a break, Mark, from marketing, said, "You went to Camp Green Lake? No way! I thought everyone had forgotten about that place!"

A wave of lightness spread through Amelia. It began at the base of her neck, then trickled down her back. A genuine smile crept onto her face. “Seriously? The swimming lessons where everyone was terrified of the eel?”

She felt... calmer. The knot in her stomach seemed to loosen. The rest of the afternoon suddenly seemed a lot more manageable. The very thought of the rest of the meeting felt different, less threatening.
