Gemotions

He sat on the edge of the bed, phone in hand, staring at the screen. The pictures showed the house, the one he had grown up in, now stripped of its former inhabitants and ready for a new family. A slow exhale shuddered through him. He rubbed his eyes, a phantom ache easing in his temples.

A grin spread across his face, something that hadn't happened in a very long time. It was a release, a letting go. The house, with all its history, was finally moving on, just as he had. He thought of all the things he had been unable to leave behind, but now they could finally be put down.
