Gemotions

The landlord’s footsteps, heavy and disapproving, had retreated down the hallway. He'd been complaining about the late-night karaoke sessions. After a tense back-and-forth, he muttered something about a second warning and departed. Liam leaned against the door, his hand still on the knob, until the sound of his footsteps had entirely disappeared. He exhaled slowly, and felt his shoulders relax. He could feel his smile beginning. He was safe. He turned back towards the karaoke machine, and started to softly sing a song.
