Gemotions

The doorbell's ring echoed through the apartment, a sound that usually sent a jolt of anxiety through her. Today, however, it brought a different sensation. A calmness settled over her as she opened the door to find a bouquet of sunflowers. The delivery person, after a quick "sign here," was gone. No card. She closed the door, a slow smile gracing her lips. She had been braced for something. Instead, the sun filtered through the curtains, warming her. She laughed, a genuine, delighted sound.
