The afternoon sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah picked up the small, folded note that had fallen from her husband's pocket. She'd been expecting the worst, after their recent fight.

She unfolded the paper, her hands trembling slightly. *Go on a road trip. Learn to play the piano. Write a book.* The words were so simple, so… gentle.

A wave of something akin to contentment washed over her. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting the sunlight warm her face. The knot in her stomach began to unravel.

She walked into the living room, a smile playing on her lips. Maybe, just maybe, they had a chance. She felt an urge to hum a song.
