Gemotions

The sight of Mr. Davis walking up the drive sent a shiver of apprehension down Alice's spine. They'd been meaning to talk about the oak tree that was casting a shadow on his side, and she'd been putting it off. But he simply wanted to plant some climbing roses against her fence, which would get more sun.

"Oh, wonderful!" she exclaimed, a genuine smile erupting on her face. Her posture straightened, and she took a deep, steadying breath. Her shoulders relaxed in a way she hadn't realized they were tense. It was an instant peace, a complete calm she hadn't experienced since their last argument over the property.
