Gemotions

The boardroom table, usually a symbol of power and influence, felt like a prison. Liam, my replacement, sat across from me, his eyes bright with ambition. He was eager, ready to learn, and I was the one who was supposed to be showing him the way. Yet, a cloud settled over me, a dark fog obscuring the details of my own existence.

I found myself stumbling over words, my usual fluency replaced by hesitations and pauses. Each sentence that left my lips felt heavy, each piece of information a burden. I caught myself staring at the wall, wishing I could disappear.

The rain started as I walked home, mirroring the tears I had refused to shed all day. The feeling of being boxed in, trapped, was all-consuming. I went home and sat in the dark.
