The news of the accusation spread through the campus like wildfire. The looks, the whispers…it was unbearable. Liam found himself avoiding the dining hall, the library, everywhere he used to go. He couldn't face anyone.

He knew he'd brought this upon himself. He'd told himself he was smart, that he deserved an easier path, but now he was nothing. He had nothing.

He sat in his room, the world outside a beautiful blur. The sun set, the sky a tapestry of colors he couldn't appreciate. He was in his own prison. He’d made a terrible mistake.
