Mark couldn't look his father in the eye. The truth, revealed through a simple saliva sample, had shattered the easy camaraderie they'd shared. The jovial laughter, the shared jokes – all now felt brittle, tainted. He avoided his father's presence, retreating to his room, the walls suddenly closing in.
