The digital file was nestled within a folder labeled "Personal." Mark, sifting through his late uncle's computer, came across it by accident: a draft email, a passionate rebuke of his uncle's business partner. Mark knew the man to be manipulative and ruthless; he’d always thought his uncle admired those qualities.

Mark leaned back in the chair, a wave of confusion washing over him. He’d spent years believing his uncle had condoned the ethics of his business partners. He'd looked up to him for that reason, or perhaps it was the opposite. He wasn't sure anymore.

His jaw clenched. He closed his eyes. The room suddenly felt very small, and his breath came in short, shallow gasps. He deleted the email without reading the body.
