“You’re really going to wear that to Grandma’s?” He asked his brother, Michael. Michael was beaming, having donned a yarmulke. His grandmother was a lifelong Catholic, and the ensuing tension was palpable.

The car ride was excruciating. He stared out the window, watching the landscape blur by. Michael kept humming, seemingly oblivious to the storm brewing inside of him. The radio played a Christian song, and he clicked it off angrily.

He had expected a protest, something… anything. But his brother had simply smiled and kept singing. It was unnerving. He was starting to feel like the only one who realized how absurd and inappropriate this whole thing was.
