"Finally!" The exclamation came out before he could stop it. Mrs. Davies had been promising a fence for months, claiming it was for the kids. He knew better. It was about controlling the space, just like always.

He felt the familiar pressure in his chest, the feeling that his space was being invaded. He always had to be the one to back down. He grabbed a beer from the fridge, slamming the door.
