"Unbelievable," Amelia muttered, pacing the sterile airport terminal. The announcement droned on about mechanical issues, a vague and frustrating explanation. The gallery opening, the one she'd poured her heart and soul into, would be in full swing by now, her chance at recognition slipping away.

She glared at the window, watching a sleek jet take off, a symbol of everything she wasn’t: mobile, on time, *important*. Her stomach churned with a bitter, sour feeling. She felt the urge to kick something, anything, to release the pent-up frustration. She had spent months creating her art, and now some faulty engine was keeping her from showcasing it.
