He slammed the phone down, the plastic receiver rattling against the counter. “Unbelievable!” Mark growled, pacing the kitchen floor. He could practically feel the blood thrumming in his ears. His car, gone. From his own property. He ran a hand through his already disheveled hair, the gesture more a frustrated assault than an attempt to tidy. He envisioned the smug dispatcher, probably smirking at his misfortune. He grabbed his coat, the fabric suddenly feeling coarse and irritating against his skin.
