Gemotions

The paper ripped in his hands. He crumpled it, sending the rejection notice into the overflowing trash bin. He should have known. They always chose the same predictable faces. The same ones with the right connections. He hated them. The team, the coach, the whole damn system. His stomach churned. He slammed his locker shut, the metal echoing in the empty gym. He pictured their stupid smiles.

He wanted to scream. Instead, he kicked the wall, the impact jarring his foot. He limped out, head down, the familiar scent of sweat and chlorine mocking him. He wouldn't show his face here again. Not until he could prove them wrong.
