The photograph of the restaurant, propped up on her desk, suddenly seemed mocking. It was a picture of the entrance to the Cozy Corner. The sun was shining. Smiling faces filled the tables. The smell of freshly baked bread wafted from the doors.

Sarah’s fingers tightened on the edge of the photograph. She should have gone more often. She should have brought her family more. Now, she felt a profound sense of… injustice.
