The vibrant, noisy space of "The Spice Route" was something she always looked forward to after a long day at the office. Now, it was a ghost. Sarah could still smell the sweet, exotic scents of the food in her mind's eye.

She slammed the door of her apartment a little harder than usual. The news had sucker-punched her. She hadn't been in a while. But it had always been there.

Her hands clenched into fists. She knew she should be more successful. She should have had more opportunities. She had always let opportunities slide. She sat down on the floor, and she started to cry.
