The rejection letter sat on his desk, a stark white rectangle of defeat. The polite words of regret seemed to mock him. His invention, the "Solar-Charger," was technically sound, groundbreaking even, but apparently, someone else had already patented something... similar. His jaw tightened.

He kicked the chair across the room, the sound echoing in the empty apartment. He felt a deep, gnawing sense of emptiness. He slumped onto the couch, staring at the ceiling, feeling an overwhelming sense of helplessness. The apartment was stifling.

He needed to escape, to get some air, any air.
