Gemotions

He sat on the park bench, kicking at a loose stone. The late afternoon sun cast long shadows, mimicking the long shadow of disappointment that now fell across his life. He saw the coach's car parked at the end of the street, and felt a sudden urge to kick it. He wanted to smash something, anything. His hands were curled into fists. He had trained harder than anyone, spent every waking hour perfecting his skills. Then this... this hollow rejection. He stood, his legs trembling, and walked the opposite direction, toward a future he hadn’t planned.
