Liam felt his cheeks flush hot. Ms. Peterson, his English teacher, had requested to follow him on Twitter. He'd poured his heart out on that platform: complaints about homework, witty observations, and secret crushes. The thought of her reading all that now made him want to crawl under a rock.

He started deleting tweets, panicking, his fingers moving at a furious pace. In class, he found himself scrutinizing her. Every smile, every glance felt like a judgment. He deliberately chose a seat at the back of the room, away from the lectern, so he wouldn't have to face her. The assignments felt like a personal affront.
