Liam discovered the letter tucked inside a vintage record sleeve. The handwriting was his own, bold and defiant. The letter was to his father, a man with whom he had always clashed. He read it, the old anger flaring.

It was a catalogue of his father's perceived shortcomings, of his authoritarian nature and his inability to listen. It described years of feeling misunderstood, of being forced to conform to a standard he never quite understood. His hands clenched into fists.

He never mailed it, but the words were still true.
