Gemotions

He glared at the framed photograph on the mantelpiece – a picture of him and his wife, smiling and happy, on the day they moved in. He wanted to shatter the picture, to rip it to shreds. The knowledge of the crime, the violation that had occurred within these walls, had shattered their happiness. The joy, the excitement, had evaporated. He felt a deep, abiding bitterness, a corrosive anger that wouldn't let go. He grabbed his coat, the front door slamming shut behind him. He needed to get away, even if only for a few hours.
