Mark had just been looking at a new bike online, a purchase that felt like a lifetime away. He needed to save for months, to budget, to compromise. The idea that Mr. Finch could casually spend more on a vacation than Mark made in a year was difficult to stomach.

He felt a tightening in his chest when he saw Mr. Finch’s easy smile and the overflowing shopping cart. He hurried down another aisle, trying to escape the unwanted feeling that weighed heavily on him. He wanted to scream at him.
