He stood in the doorway of his childhood bedroom, the room preserved as if time had stopped the day he moved out. The bed was made, the shelves neatly stacked with the same books he’d read decades ago. The desk was clear except for a single folder labeled "Christopher's Achievements." A deep breath escaped his lips.

He opened the folder. Inside, page after page chronicled his academic career. Spelling tests, art projects, poems. The sheer volume was overwhelming. He knew this would be here. It was almost a relief.

He sank onto the bed, the familiar scent of floral air freshener filling his nostrils. The room felt suffocating, yet he felt no desire to leave. He took the folder and placed it gently on the nightstand. There was no point in avoiding this.
