He stumbled upon it accidentally, a stray link on social media. His own teenage diary. It had been years since he’d thought about it, the leather-bound book gathering dust in a box in the attic.

He knew what was written in the pages. He knew all the painful details. He clicked the link. He scrolled through the entries, his emotions failing to spark. He felt an odd sense of…distance.

He closed the browser. He looked around his room. He walked to the window. Outside, the world continued on. He pulled a chair up to the window and watched the world spin.
