Gemotions

"There's been a mix-up," the doctor said, her voice soft, almost hesitant. Amelia, sat perched on the examination table, found herself looking out the window, at the fluffy clouds. The diagnosis, the medication, the fear that had taken root deep within her… all a fabrication. It was as though a heavy weight, though unseen, had been lifted and she felt the effects of it, the hollowness it had left behind.

She nodded at the doctor's explanation. Her eyes scanned the room, the same white walls she'd seen so many times, now seeming to mock her. The fight, she realised, had been taken from her. She gathered her purse and rose, a strange calm washing over her.
