He sat on the park bench, the newspaper clutched loosely in his hands. The air was crisp, the autumn leaves swirling around him. The headline screamed the name he wasn't. Years of effort, countless revisions, all for naught. A bitter laugh escaped his lips.

He watched a couple stroll hand-in-hand, their laughter floating on the breeze. They had no idea about the invisible battle he fought every day, the constant struggle against indifference and the crushing weight of reality.

He slowly folded the newspaper, a ritual. He stood, brushing off his trousers, and turned to walk home. Another day, another lost battle. Tomorrow would be the same.
