He spent the whole morning staring out the window, watching the rain streak down the glass. The transfer was a foregone conclusion. Now he had to face it, and face everyone else. The new team was expecting him.

His new desk, still bare, sat in a corner, isolated from the center of activity. He sat down and propped his head on his hand, the dull ache in his temples a familiar companion.

He pulled up the training materials, but the words blurred before his eyes. It was all a blur.

The phone rang and he stared at it.
