Gemotions

The celebratory email had been sent, announcing the bonus. A bonus he wasn’t receiving. She’d always prided herself on her work ethic, her attention to detail. Yet, it seemed, her contributions were worth less. She sat at her computer, the glow of the screen illuminating her face. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting the silence of the office wash over her. When she opened them, the cursor still blinked, waiting. She had work to do. She started typing, a dull ache settling deep within her chest.
