He stared at the television screen, where a celebrity chef was enthusiastically demonstrating how to make his "Spiced Sunrise" curry, the same one he sold at his small, uncelebrated food cart for years. He felt a dull throb behind his eyes. He slowly reached for the remote, a familiar motion, and turned the television off. The sudden silence in the room was deafening.

He walked to the window, gazing out at the rainy street. The world looked grey and washed out. He didn’t feel angry, or sad; just… empty. He knew, with a weary sigh, that he would continue going to his job, making food, and the life he had built, without any recognition.
