Gemotions

The wind howled outside, mirroring the storm inside Richard. He held the letter addressed to his best friend, who was also gone. He’d never sent it. He remembered the arguments, the pain.

He’d written it after the falling out, meant to mend the bridge that had crumbled between them. The paper was creased with his tears. The words were a monument to their lost friendship.

He looked at the letter, and the wind, and just… sighed. He placed it carefully inside a drawer. There was nothing more he could do. He sat in his chair and stared out the window.
