Gemotions

He found the email buried amongst the junk – "Important Announcement: College Closure." He didn't click on it immediately. He stood there, the laptop screen reflecting the dim light of his dorm room. The poster on the wall had a map of the world.

He went to the kitchenette and poured a cup of instant coffee, the grounds clumping stubbornly at the bottom. The steam warmed his face but offered no comfort.

He sat on his bed, the email still unread. He finally clicked on the link. The words swam before his eyes. He slowly began to sip his coffee. He let the words wash over him. Then, he closed the laptop. The silence of the room wrapped around him like a thick blanket.
