Rain slicked the plastic wrapping as Sarah hefted the unearthed box. It was heavy, much heavier than she anticipated. The contents revealed a mix of youthful exuberance and naive dreams. A mix tape, a letter to her future self, and a poorly drawn portrait of her younger self. She stared at the contents, the drizzle chilling her skin. She had no memory of this. She felt her shoulders slump. Each detail, each word, pointed to a life she felt detached from, a person she no longer knew. She tossed the box in the trunk, the sound echoing in the empty space.
