Gemotions

The salt air did nothing to calm Marcus. He stared at the endless horizon, the waves mirroring the chaotic churn inside him. He'd been irritable, short-tempered with everyone. He felt a constant itch, a need to shed his skin. He'd stormed out of the house that morning, the doors slamming behind him.

He was in the local library, just to get out of the house. He spotted a book, the title screamed at him, "Marcus Blackwood: A Life Remembered". The spine was glossy, new. He picked it up, and felt a cold dread as he read the first few lines. It was a biography, his biography. Every memory, every detail of his life was somehow documented on the page. His pulse hammered in his ears.

He threw the book to the floor, and bolted.
