The city noise grated on Arthur's nerves. He found himself avoiding his usual haunts, the cafe where he'd spend hours reading, the park where he'd walk, the pub where he'd drink. Everything felt stale, suffocating. He craved space, air, something *different*.

He felt a pull towards the library. He spent hours there. He found a book; the pages were crisp and clean. He looked at the cover. It contained his name. The words jumped off the page, a complete strangers account of his life. He slammed the book shut, his hands shaking. He left without taking a breath.
