Gemotions

He stared out the window, watching the rain streak down the glass, mimicking the tears he wouldn't allow himself to shed. The words on the email blurred before his eyes. He felt a need to be away from the confines of his room, his mind racing, searching for a solution, a different path.

He slammed his fist on the windowsill, the sharp impact offering a fleeting moment of relief. He considered calling his friend, then changed his mind. He needed to be alone with this, but the solitude felt heavy, suffocating.

He quickly grabbed his keys and rushed outside into the downpour, feeling strangely invigorated by the cold, cleansing rain.
