He ran his hand through his hair, a gesture he repeated several times. A low growl rumbled in his chest. He couldn't shake the sensation that something essential had been ripped away.

"The Spicy Spoon, Gone," the article announced. Years of Tuesday night dates, of shared laughter, of the comfort of familiar flavors, evaporated with the news.

He grabbed his jacket and slammed the door behind him. He started walking, not knowing where he was going, the city lights a blur. He had to keep moving, had to keep going.
