Gemotions

The afternoon light cast long shadows as Ben scowled at the array of knick-knacks. He shifted his weight, unable to stand still, his focus slipping. He tapped his foot, a nervous habit he hadn't realized he had. He had to *do* something, something to alleviate the prickling beneath his skin.

He'd been feeling this way all week. He needed something, anything, to break the monotony.

Then, from the corner of his eye, he saw it. A threadbare teddy bear, perched precariously on a rickety stool. He walked over, feeling a strange pull. He gently picked it up. He felt a sudden, unexpected softening.
